Background and Information
The Dell XPS 15 9550 was released in 2015. The virtually border-less 15.6 inch UltraSharp InfinityEdge Ultra HD 4K display maximizes screen space and makes for superb resolution. Starting at just over 4 pounds, the XPS 15 is one of the lightest 15-inch high performance laptops available, while still packing an Intel i7 quad-core processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD hard drive. The model number can be found be lifting up the panel door in the center of the bottom of the laptop.
The XPS 15 9550 has been known to have problems with the battery swelling, eventually causing the touch-pad to break. Anyone affected by the battery swelling can receive a new one at no cost from Dell.
The XPS 15 9550 was replaced by the XPS 15 9560 in 2017 and then the XPS 15 9570 in 2018.
