On the cloning I use a program called True Image http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/pro...-US-EN-SEM-branded-ati&gclid=CN6CrKPA3rQCFao7MgodxzwAAA I use it for customers that have a hard drive going bad and it has the factory restore on the same hard drive. It images the entire drive all partitions. You could use it from your bootcamp side because I do not know if it works on OSX. I know you can use it to resize the partitions as well. However if it was me I would just do a fresh install of everything to have a nice fresh start with a SSD. Side note make make sure you turn off the auto defrag in Windows 7. It will burn up the SSD.
You are going to need a Windows XP disk to reinstall the operating system. Once you have the operating system installed you will need to go to Dell Support http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/1... and enter the service tag number that should be on the machine. That will direct you to the drivers which you will need to make all the components work with Windows.
Here is a forum that has your problem. It is a really great read and should help you fix it yourself or you can send it out. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.p...
I have had these fail before and it turns out to be the power board in the unit that powers the drive. The drive itself turned out to be fine. I would crack it open pull out the drive and hook it up inside the pc and see if it still works. If it works then just buy a new enclosure.
Go to this website and they will have everything you need. Just check out the forums. I also recommend that you do not use a heat gun and have it professionally done. http://www.xbox-scene.com/
The Late 2009 + 2010 Macbook Unibody Models have the touchpad like the Macbook Pros but I do not know if they have all the same multitouch capabilities.
Last thing I think that you have left is to try a new LCD. They are anywhere from $75.00 - $100.00 depending on where you buy it from. Was the LVDS cable and the inverter board known to be good working parts?
