Hoverboard Will Not Turn Properly

Hoverboard is unbalanced or vibrating.

Loose Wires

To check for loose wires, open the device by unscrewing the bottom of both sides. Once inside, see if there are loose or disconnected wires at the motor, gyroscope, or motherboard. If wires are disconnected, they can easily be connected again, but if connections are loose, you will need to add adhesive or replace the connector. Loose wires for the Bluetooth and the LED lights will not be the reason for any performance issues.

Faulty Gyroscope

If you step on the board and do not hear a sound, your gyroscope is no longer working and will need to be replaced. In very rare cases, this is caused by a problem with the rubber tips that go into the sensors under the gyroscope. To replace this part, follow the Hover-1 Titan Right Gyroscope Replacement Guide or the Hover-1 Titan Left Gyroscope Replacement Guide.

Hoverboard Does Not Spin on One Side

One of the wheels of your hoverboard does not spin when turned on.

Loose Wires

If some of the wires are loose or disconnected inside your hoverboard, it can cause the device to function improperly. To solve this problem, open the device by unscrewing the bottom of the side that is not responding. Once you can access the inside of the board, unplug and plug back in any connections, checking for loose wires. If you find any loose connections, add adhesive or replace the connector if possible.

Faulty Gyroscope

To check your gyroscope, start by unscrewing the bottom of the malfunctioning side of your hoverboard and flip the gyroscopes so the sensor is facing up and calibrate it by holding the power button for 5 seconds. To test if your gyroscopes are still functioning properly, insert a card into the sensor and tilt it to change direction. If your wheel does not move in the correct direction, or not at all, you should replace the hoverboard’s gyroscope. To do so, follow the Hover-1 Titan Right Gyroscope Replacement Guide or the Hover-1 Titan Left Gyroscope Replacement Guide.

Faulty Motor

If one side of your hoverboard still won’t turn on, then you may have a faulty motor. You can fix this issue by replacing this part. Instructions for this replacement can be found under the Hover-1 Titan Wheel and Motor Replacement Guide.

Hoverboard Will Not Turn On

Hoverboard does not respond to pressing the power button.

Battery Not Charged

Your Hover-1 Titan has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. According to the Hover-1 Titan manual, if the LED light on the hoverboard turns red, then the device needs to be recharged. When you plug the charger provided by Hover-1 into a wall outlet, the light on the charger should be green. Then as you connect the charging cable into the charging port of the hoverboard, the light on the charger should turn red (indicating that it is charging). The hoverboard will be fully charged when the light on the charger turns green. Charging can take up to 3.5 hours and it is not recommended to charge the device for any longer than this amount of time.

If the light does not turn on when you plug in your device, you might have a faulty charge port that keeps your battery from charging. Check out our Hover-1 Titan Charge Port Replacement Guide for help replacing this part.

Faulty Battery

A defective battery can cause a hoverboard to not retain a charge. If your Hover-1 Titan will turn on after charging for 3.5 hours, but dies quickly, then you will need to replace your battery. For assistance, follow the Hover-1 Titan Battery Replacement Guide.

Faulty Power Button

A faulty power button can keep your device from turning on. This could be from snapped or frayed wires connecting the button to the rest of the hoverboard or from the button being stuck. If your hoverboard still will not turn on after replacing the battery, try replacing the power button. Instructions for this replacement can be found under the Hover-1 Titan Power Button Replacement.

Hoverboard Turns On but Does Not Move

Lights may turn on, but the hoverboard does not move.

Water Damage

If water gets inside the device, it may damage the internal electronics. Remove the screws on the bottom and take off the bottom cover. Check for any water inside the device. If found, remove as much as possible. You can use a hair dryer for faster results, but be careful not to overheat the wires because you may risk melting them.

Loose Wires

The internal wires may not be fully connected, so some parts, such as the lights, may work while others, such as the motors will not work. Remove the screws on the bottom and take off the bottom cover. Unplug and plug in back in all of the plastic connectors looking for wires that are loose or disconnected. If you find any loose connections, add adhesive or replace the connector if possible.

Faulty Gyroscopes

If the hoverboard lights turn on but the device will not move, one or more of the gyroscopes may have gone bad. This issue can be fixed by replacing the broken parts. Follow the Hover-1 Titan Right Gyroscope Replacement Guide or the Hover-1 Titan Left Gyroscope Replacement Guide for help.
