Hey there! My name is Zachary Traynor, but just call me Zach!

Currently, I am a freshman at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott, AZ. I am studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. I currently have little to no repair experience, but I am hoping that through the projects on iFixit I will be able to learn how to repair several devices.

During high school, concepts involving electricity flow and electromagnetism were introduced in my chemistry class, which I immediately fell in love with. Throughout my years in high school, I explored different degrees and what was involved in each. Eventually one of my teachers recommended I look into and contact professionals in the field, which I did. I found out that electrical engineering was geared toward all of the concepts I loved.

I aspire to obtain several degrees, in which I chose Electrical Engineering to be my first. Besides Electrical Engineering, I plan on getting some type of environmental based degree, like Environmental Engineering or Sustainability, along with some type of music or educational degree. With those degrees, I hope to apply them all together to help change a field for the better.

I worked with a group of high school and college students on an applied mathematics research project. We presented a poster with our data at a research poster symposium at Arizona State University (ASU). The project is based on how much excess trash and litter there is, and if that is enough to create an asteroid that may harm the Earth and survive in space conditions.
