Background

The HTC Vive XR Elite is an all-in-one extended reality (XR) headset, released in March 2023. The XR Elite builds upon the HTC Flow and retains many of the Flow's features, such as the lightweight design, pancake optics, and diopter adjustment. The XR Elite has a detachable battery cradle built into the head strap. The batteries connect via USB-C and can power the headset for two hours. The headset also comes with two glasses-style arm attachments.

The headset runs in standalone using the onboard Snapdragon XR2 chip. It can also run in PCVR mode via the USB-C connector or wirelessly via Wi-Fi 6E. It uses four cameras for inside-out tracking and comes with two Vive XR controllers. The HTC Vive XR Elite costs $1,099 at the time of release.

Identification

The HTC Vive XR Elite is noticeable by its goggles-like form and features an extendable strap. The word "VIVE" is imprinted on both sides of the temples of the headset.
