Background
Released in late 2010, the G53JW-A1 is part of Asus' Republic of Gamers G-series gaming laptops, designed to be powerful enough to handle intensive gameplay while on the go. The G53 line is similar to the G73 line, but a bit smaller. The laptop dimensions are 15.6 x 11.9 x 2 inches, and it weighs 7.9 pounds. The screen is 15.6 inches, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The G53JW-A1 has suffered from many issues with its power socket developing a bad connection, even with careful and infrequent use. Some users have complained about the extensive steps needed to access the hard drive or RAM - these processes involve removing a lot more screws than is typical.
