My name is Kevin Walker, and I am a freshman at URI majoring in animal science on the pre-vet track. I plan to attend the University of Florida Veterinary School to attain my DVM and someday open my practice. One of my hobbies is horseback riding which is one of many reasons to choosing animals science as my major. I have a dog and cat that don’t get along and they are my whole world. They push me and motivate me to achieve my goal of going to University of Florida Veterinary School.
I am also active in many clubs, such as the puppy raiser club; It’s a club that trains dogs to be seeing-eye dogs, and then we give them away for free to help out those that are blind. I mention this because it shows my true character and how I am willing to help those who can’t help themselves. This is another reason for becoming a veterinarian because I believe animals need someone like me to help manage their lifestyle.
I’m the right man for the job because I fixed and built many things. For example, I fixed my malfunctioning computer and had to resolve the dilemma by opening it up. It turned out there was a failure in the hardware drive, and it had to be replaced. I like to think of myself as a handyman who can fix any problem. Working with this company will better help with my problem-solving. Which would be beneficial in my career to solve different scenarios that will ultimately help increase the efficiency in my future practice.
