Note that the ribbon cable has 2 staggered layers, so it must be fully inserted for a proper connection.

The SX10 has 2 ribbons — I wonder if this is a mix up in part numbers?

After removing the 2 screws holding the cover plate, closing the LCD screen back onto the camera back shifted the wiring inside so the cover slid off with very little force necessary.

It looks like the switch to detect orientation is also in this area, so if your LCD does not flip properly, this is an area to focus on.

The yellow and blue ribbon strips are the ones to remove. I used an exacto knife to get it moving apart before switching to a plastic spudger.

step 4 is not necessary if you are only replacing the screen itself. If you need to clean out the hinge, then you would need to do step 4.
