I would say open it, since they are one of the easiest iPod ever created to open and check to see if the battery is connected securely to its' port. Since you hear clicking sound, that's the harddrive, but it doesn't sound like anything is wrong on that part. You may just need a new battery. Let me know how it goes.
Leer másWell, lets start off by saying good that you did your research on the item. And if my answer is correct, please let me know. When you open your iPhone 3g(www.ifixit.com will show you how) and pull off you your entice display enclosure, you will see the Cable dock flex cable. Disconnect this from your logic board and make sure to unscrew the necessary screw. What you have is a combination of three part that you have just taken out because they are all connected. First was the dock connector flex cable with the left speaker attached. Second is the sound buzzer/bottom speaker en-closer. It's all black and not that big. On the bottom of that, which is the third part (as well as the part you are looking for)if your antenna flew cable. This is the part you want to replace. Now if you think if you can just buy this item and replace it, your right but wrong. There is metal prong that is connect from the antenna flex cable to the buzzer. The buzzer is also connect to the dock flex cable. In simple terms, you want...
Leer másYes there is. You have two separate speaker on your iphone. One is the iphone speaker buzzer which is connect to your antenna. The other speaker is connected to your sync flex cable inside your phone. If your phone still syncs and you don't hear any sound from BOTH of you speakers, you need to replace that entire part. But if you just have one speaker working, you can open it and figure exactly what wrong. the speaker on the right side is connected to the sync cable. the speaker on the left side is connected to the speaker/buzzer part. If you are not handy and you want it simply for you, just purchase the entire part. If you can not find the item on this website, you can find it on ebay. the entire piece will cost you about 25 USD. hopefully this will help you out.
Leer másThere is a easier way my friends. If you care about the stuff on your iTouch (E.g.: music, apps, games, videos, pictures) DO NOT PERFORM THIS. Since you said this is brand new, you should have no problem "jail-braking" (if that's even how you spell it) or even formatting it. Once you do this, everyhing will be erased on your iTouch and you can start brand new.
Leer másWell, I believe you have a 6th gen, slim 80 GB iPod classic. If I am correct, iTunes 9.X (Whatever version) should be able to work with it. When a red X appears on your iPod screen, especially the 6th Gen classics, it is usually a hard drive failure. If it charges, you know it's not the battery. Try formatting it with Windows, then do a restore on it from iTunes. If that doesn't work, try giving it a good hand slap on the table (with the sync port pointing down to the table). I know this might sound barbaric, but the needle in your hard drive might have been displaced and needs to be realigned. Also, the hard drive cable that connects your hard drive to your logic board might be slightly loose. Doing this will help you connect. If all else fails, which I hope it doesn't, then I believe you should sell it on eBay or try to replace the hard drive. A hard drive for this model can be found here.
Leer másIt sounds like you will need a new click wheel in order to fix this problem. You can purchase one of theses off of ebay from a US seller for no more than 10 USD. 3rd Gen Click Wheel: http://cgi.ebay.com/iPod-3rd-Gen-Nano-clickwheel-ribbon-flex-cable-USA_W0QQitemZ350261078008QQcmdZViewItemQ...
Leer másWhat you might want to do is reset your iPod Touch and rename your device. Update your firmware as well. Make sure you as using the correct Firmware. And if all else fails, bring to a Apple Store and they might give you a free one if it still under warranty
Leer másYes. Here's a video for you http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/how-to-take-apart-the-iphone-3g-for-repairs-216701/ I will try to make a video to show you how to completely break down the iPhone 3g to change the housing.
Leer másYour headphones port is completely separate from your speakers. What you will need to get is a IPHONE 3G RINGER PORT BUZZER SPEAKER ANTENNA FLEX PART. You want to get the whole assembly already done for you because it is hard to do it yourself if your a noob. You can find this on ebay. The part if you want in America is like a max of 25 USD and Foreign is about 15 USD max. LEt me know if this helps you out.
Leer másThis is true David. But maybe he might able to open the iPod and check to see if the harddrive cable is connect to the logic board and the harddrive still. But it does sound like you do need a new harddrive. What you want to do if you battery says that it is low is put it on the charger (wall charger, not pc) and let it sit for about a day. After that do as i instructed above and see if that helps. If it doesn't, you definitely will need a new hardddrive.
