How do I remove top of machine?
How do I take top off to reattach part that goes down to initiate draining and spinning. The lid has to be closed to initiate this feature. I stupidly overloaded and that piece came loose.

Marsha, If it was the lid switch that came loose check the link below easy to follow instruction/video to show Kenmore washer cabinet removal, 2nd vid. shows lid switch replacement.
