what's wrong with the screen

the screen of my laptop turns white then black but the laptop is functioning i can see something through the small top bar on the screen .whats wrong with it and how can i fix it? you can see by this https://www.datafilehost.com/d/f7cea510 image

Hi,

Connect an external monitor to the laptop and see what the display is like on it.

If the external monitor display is OK then you either have a faulty video cable, faulty video cable connection at either end or a faulty LCD screen.

If the external monitor display is the same as the laptop screen display then you have either a GPU fault or a motherboard fault.
