Identification and Background
The Nintendo 64 gaming console was released in September 1996 in the US. Named for its 64-bit CPU, the Nintendo 64, also known as the N64, was the last desktop video console to use cartridges. The console managed to sell approximately 32.93 million units and was discontinued in 2001 due to the launch of the GameCube.
The standard black and gray colored Nintendo 64, the Funtastic Series, and the Nintendo 64 Pikachu Edition have the model number NUS-001.
