Thanks everyone, I think the question is answered.
Merry Christmas to all... I'll see if there is still time for Santa to dredge up an adapter cable for me.

The biggest problem I had with re-assembly was getting the two 2.5mm screws back into position. My driver is non-magnetic so the screws would not ‘lock’ in place on the 000 driver. I ended up with a tiny piece of Kleenex to wedge the driver into the screw and then carefully removing the tissue after the screw was in place.
My microphone was firmly seated in the speaker and came awayeasily when the logic board was lifted. When I wanted to remove the mic from the speaker it was resistant so I used the spudger and disconnected both the mic and the speaker from the logic board. Then, having the entire unit in hand I was able to gently pry the mic out of the speaker with the point of the spudger just under the wires.
My unit simply has a burned out motor - the coils are obvoiusly overheated. Otherwise it works fine. Any idea of where to obtain a replacement motor? Anyone in North America with a used part?
