Hello there! My name is Diana Ramirez-S! I'm a student at Austin Community College majoring in LAN Security Administration. I chose this major because I am passionate about helping people and organizations protect themselves and their data in this emerging technology environment. I aspire to complete my AAS in LAN Security and subsequently obtain a Cybersecurity internship. I currently have the Scholastic Leadership status at my school and belong to both the National Society of Leadership and Success and to the 2024 All-Texas Academic Team.

I have a range of skills from my days of being a former Bilingual elementary schoolteacher including teaching to a diverse age of audiences with varying skills, I am patient and I have strong written communication skills. My current troubleshooting skills give me the experience of repairing and explaining to others how to resolve technical problems including replacing hardware, installing operating systems and updating software.

One big project I completed included locating and setting up refurbished computer systems for a client's medical practice. I had to find a combination of small form factor computers and mini towers PC's that contained the specified needed specs including RAM, CPU and needed operating system. I then had to ensure to test the computers and run any necessary updates. Another technical project I completed was remotely assisting clients in a non-profit organization to update the software on their computer to the latest version including helping to check that all their files had migrated and been backed up.

Some of my hobbies include creative writing, dancing, playing the guitar and feeding the birds in my neighborhood!

This project relates to me in that I believe that we should repair and reuse items that we can to better our lives and the environment around us. Last fun fact: I am actually trilingual: I speak English, Spanish and German!
