When it says "start dedicated app on target device" open the app you used previously on your phone. Then select the camera from the options in the app.

Yes. The same app you used previously.

Same issue here. Have tried resetting WiFi settings on the camera uninstalling the app and reinstalling and using both the camera access point and our WiFi and still can no longer get passed “Start dedicated app on target device.” It’s worked fine for over a year so not sure if it’s an app update causing the issue?

My husband found the solution and not having anymore issues since then.just go to camera connect app rmthwn chiise connection guide then choose canon powershit g7x mark ll /NFC next is while the canon camera is turn off the buttom part of canon should be place close to the back of your phone so that they can connect to each other once you establish the connection the canon will turn on automatically if not succesful you have to re do it until connection establish.

Can you explain again & in more detail pls? I have the same %#*@ problem & i’m so frustrated. I need it fixed asap.

You have to open your canon camera connect app then choose" easy connection guide" then " canon powershot g7x mark ii/NFC.while your canon camera is turn off the buttom part of the camera needs to be place or close to the back of your phone so that the phone will able to find/establish the connection to the canon camera.if not succesful you have to repeat the procedure again until the two(phone and camera) will connect to each other.

I did try to post some photos in here on how it looks like or to show how i did it but not possible.photos doesnt upload..ugh

your explanation doesn't make sense. easy connection guide then it says select camera etc.??? "while your canon camera is turn off the buttom part of the camera needs to be place" ??? turn off what? while your camera is what? turned off??? does an iPhone 6s work with nfc? i literally tried almost everything! i'm so frustrated. i never had problems with it untill i tried to connect to another wifi signal.

It unfortunately didn't work for me either. I'm waiting to hear back from Canon support as I think its linked with the latest iOS update.

Hi, I’m in really need of dire help here. My camera can’t seem to connect to my phone no matter what I do, it used to work successfully but whenever I try to send videos through my phone it converts the movie first but it keeps on disconnecting before it’s even sent — I never used to have this problem before so I don’t know why it’s being complicated now.

You only have to reset all the wi-fi settings.

Just press menu and find this function :)

I’ve tried all of this and it doesn’t work. I can reset my wireless setting and then it allows me to go through the motions of reconnecting it. At this point, my iphone says it’s connected, but the camera says it’s still searching for the connection. If I try to reset all settings on tab4 of settings the camera just says ‘busy’ and closes settings down. Really frustrating, can’t seem to find a solution that works.

I’ve tried all that’s been suggested on here. I can reset my wireless setting on the camera, and go through the link-up process with my iphone, but I get to the same point where the connection isn’t establishing. My iphone says it’s connected, but the camera continues to search for the connection. If I try to ‘reset all settings’ as suggested, my camera just says ‘busy’ and shuts settings down. This is as far as I can get. Has anyone else experienced the same issue and found a resolution?
