Display coming away from back of screen assembly, still functional.

As per the title, the double sided tape holding the display to the rest of the screen assembly appears to have failed. The screen still functions as well as the webcam, so it doesn't seem like any connecting cables have been damaged yet. Photos are attached below.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to re-adhere the screen to the assembly with 8mm tesa tape (or some other kind of adhesive). I would prefer to salvage the display assembly if I can, the cost of a new assembly is a bit prohibitive at the moment.
