Try starting the phone in [https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-203892/|safe mode] and check what happens.

If the display stays on, then it could be a downloaded app that is causing the problem. The trick is to find out which one. A downloaded app is one that you downloaded and installed on the phone and wasn't pre-installed on the phone when you first got it.

If still no good, then it could be a loose display flex cable connection.

Try to [https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/blog/2016/03/how-to-connect-your-galaxy-s7-s7-edge-to-your-tv/|mirror] the screen to a TV and check what the TV display is like.

If it stays on when the phone's display if off then more likely it is either the display or the display cable connection.

If it also turns off then most probably is a problem with the systemboard.
