1. switch camera on, lens will extent

2. remove battery so lens will not retract automatically

3. take the front part of the lens and pull gently but firmly. with a little bit of manipulating the housing will slide off. Be carefull to hold the lens pointed upward so the parts of the lens cap will not fall off.
