The easiest would be to try the original ( presumedly faulty) screen. If it was cracked, etc, but still lit up, prior to replacement, unlike the new one, and you put it back in, and it lights up, then I’d guess the new screen is either faulty, incompatible or incorrectly installed.
Leer másAs Ben said… in short, no. The repairer should tranfer the existing home button to the new screen during the replacement. If your home button was damaged, or the repairer damaged it, then you won’t be able to get it working. I don’t think Apple will help either, I’m afraid.
Leer másEDIT: Sorry, Posted this a while ago but got marked as spam. Pretty much what Dan said… Not entirely sure, but I remember reading that Apple did not recommend using a 6gbps capable SSD in the optical bay, but to only use 3gbps. That may, or may not, have something to do with it. eg: ”Testing has demonstrated that Apple factory hardware does not reliably support a 6G (6Gb/s) Solid State Drive or Hard Disk Drive in the optical bay of 2011 and 2012 MacBook Pros (Model ID 8,1; 8,2; 8,3; 9,1; 9,2). “ from https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/DDAM... Otherwise, make sure trim is enabled and run fsck -fy on the drive in question. Apparently that has helped some people resolve speed issues. and of course, the usual reset PRAM and SMC… :) Hope this is of some help.
Leer másHi. It could be a few things. First, I’d guess you need a new optical drive. However, first, in case the optical drive lens is dirty, you could try to gently clean the lens, with the power disconnected, with a very soft, lint free cloth, with just a dab of isopropyl alcohol on it. Don’t use too much! Gently wipe the lens, The little clear glass circle that sits under the disk itself, using as little effort as possible. If that fails, also check the connector cable from the optical drive to the mainboard, unlikely but worth trying. If that fails, you’ll probably have to replace it. Guide here: Reemplazo de unidad óptica de Play Station 3 Super Slim You can probably pick one up on Ebay. Alternatively, you MAY be able to use a USB optical drive, but I’ve never tried, you’d have to research that one… Next, I’d remove the internal hard disk, then plug it into a windows system via SATA, or USB, if you have a USB to SATA adapter, and test it for bad sectors, problems with the heads, etc. The hard disk...
Leer másHi. Hopefully its something simple, however worst case you could be up for a new computer or a motherboard. However, in all likelihood, your hard disk will be fine, as will all your files. If, in the worst case, your motherboard is faulty, you can simply plug your hard disk into a desktop computer via the SATA connections and copy the files from there, or you can buy a USB enclosure to put it into and recover you files that way. Anyway, a few things to try: Remove the main battery first, then disconnect the mains power, and hold down the power button for a few seconds. Then reconnect just the power supply. (The batteries have a “smart” circuit that communicates with the mainboard via a i2c SMBUS or similar, and if that locks up, it can cause the unit to fail to power on, even if the power supply is good.) (If it works, reinstall the battery and retest - if it continues to fail with the battery in it, most likely the battery has failed… or extremely less likely, the mainboard battery charging circuit has a...
Leer másWell, you can use it... but its a right PITA. What a ridiculously designed keyboard.. 100+ screws? I bought a replacement keyboard, and backlight and set of screws to replace the rivets... so I went ahead and did it. Here's a rough outline of the procedure. pull apart your crapbook, remove everything so all you have left it the topcover, the touchpad, the keyboard and the backlight that attaches to the keyboard. Take care with the cables. see guides on the web for dismantling. keep track of screws, again...take care removing cables. disconnect the old keyboard cable from the pcb circuit board on the touchpad, VERY carefully - otherwise your up for a new touchpad. Now, there may be better ways of doing this, but this is how I did it. I tore off the backlight by working my away around the edges of the black plastic backing thats glued around the sides of the kb/backlight, then removed the backlight. (actually, pretty much lost patience and tore it off... if you don't have a back light... take care and you...

Next time I think I'll just use a crowbar or a drop saw to get the hard disk out for data recovery.
Hard disk is located in the front left hand side of the unit.
65+ screws of all shapes and sizes.
What a poorly designed notebook - that's putting it really, really, mildly.
It sucks.
