I just tore a brand New Apple Smart Case for a XS Max apart. There is no aluminum or screws it is a piece of pc board bonded to a piece of plastic. I destroyed it just to take it apart. Even if you get this apart the batteries are glued that good you will have to heat them up and that is risky business. I pried up on the charging port and of coarse bent and broke it in order to pop off the pc board material hiding everything. Don,t waste your time. This was a Brand new one.It wouldn,t charge. I should have tried to charge it with a non apple battery bank.

I know this is obsolete in 2021 but it is still good for playing older games and showing photo,s. I used a heat gun on low a surgeon scalpel and had very little trouble. I also wore Kevlar gloves and used a small dyson cordless vac with attactment with brush on the end to gently dab on lcd to remove glass. I did get one scratch on lcd screen byt not bad. The lcd was hard to clean I used straight alcohol and the distilled water and you must be careful of edges they have a foam and it will rub off and smear on the lcd. My camera stayed hooked in the back came loose from the glass. I used a .045 stailess steel shim to first pry glass loose.
