Hey guys, to wrap this up, I watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWb54DK5... (FixitFrank) on this Ionic Breeze unit. The problem was just the power button. Guess I should have been more observant, thanks Frank!
Thanks for the Ionic breeze disassembly instructions. My unit was just stone dead. Because of karllindheimer”s comments, I was careful to discharge the 220uF cap before I dug into the PCB. Like him it still had quite a kick, I had to short the cap 3 or 4 times before it was fully discharged! i didn’t expect the unit to be quite as sophisticated as it was, it looked like a modified tv set flyback circuit! Unfortunately the fuse was still good and I couldn’t immediately see any cooked components. I’ll look around for a troubleshooting manual, if I can’t find one I’ll junk this unit.
