No, the solder was never the problem on any console. the fault is in the chip itself, which will need to be replaced. reballing will only temporarily fix it, just like on the ps3/360.
Is there any reason you would want to replace them? I know there was a video showing how hot the ram gets but we haven’t seen many (if any) failures from this so far.
The optical drive is locked and most likely encrypted so people can't replace it. I don't think you could even replace them or remarry them on the ps4 like you could with the ps3, but there is nothing we can do but wait and see if any methods become avaliable to unlock
Please don’t do this to your 360… all you will do is damage it beyond repair bu trying to fix “broken solder joints” that aren’t even there… the issue lies in the flip chip itself, not the solder under the substrate.
This is no doubt the most BS solution out there. Ifixit essentially trying to scam people out of their money by selling them a bunch of things that won’t repair their ps3s. All this does is heat up the faulty flip chip enough that it will work for a short time.
