Ipod touch got washed, how can I dry it out, or how can it be repaired?

Here is what I did: I shook out all the water. Took a long time banging it on a thick folded towel. Then I put it on a heater, not too hot for a several days. When I saw no more dampness on the inside of the window for a few days I reckoned it to be fully dry. When I then switched it on... it worked fine again! frix
