Try WD SmatWare Installer. if you can get to where it asks for Password type in 5 wrong answers it will then ask if you want to reformat say yes and you will lose all data on the drive but have the drive initialized and back working.

You need WD Smartware. When Passport asks for password put in the wrong password 5 times it will then ask if you want it formatted say yes. Then it will work fine. You will lose all info on the disk but have functioning disk.
