I in stalled a new battery and will not charge c it be the power cord

Next step is checking the power cord. If it still prevails my money is on the DC jack (the female part the charger plugs into).

How do you check the power cord? How do you check the DC jack?
Power cord, good condition.... Runs on power cord alone, battery doesn't seem to be charging... Lights (charging lights) on the battery don't light up when plugged into wall socket, but notebook powers on..

Please tell us more about the history of the laptop and your ownership of it. Has it been exposed to liquid? Does the previous battery still take even a small charge? Where did you acquire the new battery? Does the laptop power on with the charger?
