iPad Pro 2018 screen replacement now it doesn’t power on

My screen cracked so I bought a new one. I removed the broken screen and forgot to keep the Face ID cable.

When I got the new screen I attached the touch cable and tried to  power it on but it wouldn’t work.

Is the cable missing the problem?  I followed directions. Could I have short circuited it?
