You should be able to snag the Airport card out of a 2015 rMBP and it should be plug and play. As for actual speed increases, I’m not sure. But that is the best you could get and it should be faster assuming you have the Wi-Fi to take advantage of it.

As for macOS you can just use a tool like [link|https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/|Opencore Legacy Patcher] which will allow you to go up to Sequoia. You do not need to upgrade your Airport to update macOS as macOS depends on the computer model not Airport model.
