charging port replacement doesnt fit in connector.

I ordered a replacement for my ipad pro 12.9 3rd generation's charging port. [br]
this is the part I ordered [product|IF323-045][br]
linked directly from a guide.[br]
however, when it came time to replace the part, it wouldnt connect to slot for the ribbon cable. the old one connects effortlessly but the new one does not. [br]
upon further inspection they appear to be ever so slightly differnt.

that bit near the bottom of the circled area is differnt. theres an extra ridge on the new one.
I'm not sure why. as they should be for the same model. but in any case, the new one does not fit properly so i cant finish my repair.[br]

does anyone have any idea why this is happening? was it a mistake of sending the wrong part or is it may fault somehow.
