Missing connector on power ribbon cable replacement

I'm trying to replace a power ribbon cable in an iPad 2. It came apart just fine, but I'm now trying to reconnect the button cable connector to the component board, but it seems that my replacement cable is missing the connector to do this?

Above is the component board, with an annotation pointing out where the button cable connector should be connected, and below it is the replacement button cable connector, which appears to be missing the connector to the component board.

This is the battery cable connector as shown on step 53 of [link|https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPad+2+GSM+Volume+and+Power+Button+Cable+Replacement/27872|this guide|new_window=true].
Is there something I'm missing? Any chance I've accidentally ordered the wrong replacement cable? Any help appreciated, thank you.
