So I have a MacBook Air that I got in 2017 when I graduated and all of a sudden it stopped working in 2018. I took great care of it and I bought it brand new from Apple. The screen does not light up at all. The charger works, the light on the charger is lit when I plug it in. But no sign of life? I took it to Apple and they said it was something to do with either the mother board or hard drive but I can’t remember. They said it would be like a 500+ dollar repair and I just have a hard time believing a laptop this new could be damaged to this extent when it was well taken care of. It makes no sense and I don’t buy it. Any other possibilities of what it would be? Damaged screen? I’m at a loss. The screen does not turn on at all.

Also, I’ve let it sit on my desk for years and gave up. I now need it for school again and am trying to find a cheaper resolution before I break the bank at apple
