singer - tangles thread arond the shuttlehook\bobbit

I have a Singer machine from the 70’s (M43 looks like mine). Recently, thread keeps building up like 15 revolutions around the shuttle hook\bobbit if I sew fast.
I had a shop look at it and they *say* it is fixed but it still does the same thing. Only if i sew very slowly does the thread not wrap around alot around the the shuttle hook\boobit.
The store says it is because of the denim i am sewing but i have been using this many times before it started acting up. The store guy(who “repaired” it) adjusted a screw so that there is some tension for the thread feed from the bobbin.
