It sounds like a problem with the screen (obviously).

Most likely the screen is

A.) broken internally

B.) Connectors are loose.

I'd say try opening the device and examine the cables for the screen and make sure they're intact. If you don't have the tools try seeing if a shop has the ability to do it.
