I wanted to completely disassemble the speaker to see if I could modify its power source (from battery to USB). but found it glued shut. There are screws that would seem to open up the internals, but removing the screws did nothing. In the end I put it back together, and decided to not replace any of the screws. The glue and metal case are sufficient. No screws necessary.
I would prefer it to not power down while using USB power, but destroying the speaker to convert it to USB power is not the answer.
