The back cover of the Asus TUF Gaming FX705G must be removed before any internal repairs and replacements. This is the first step for nearly all laptop replacement guides. Find a good spot in the seam around the bottom half of the laptop in order to avoid breaks or cracks. Before removing the back cover, you may also want to check for any cracks or missing screws.

    • Remove the eleven Phillips #0 screws that secure the back cover.

    • Use the iFixit opening tool to lift the back cover's seam, then insert the spudger parallel to the back cover and lift gently upward.
