DJI Phantom 3 Standard Repair

The Phantom 3 Standard is a drone manufactured by DJI, originally released in 2015. This model includes a 3-axis gimbal-mounted video camera that captures images at a maximum resolution of 2.7K/30fps. Additionally, the drone has GPS position holding and return-to-home features which increase the ease-of-use for the user. In fact it was one of the first consumer drones to make GPS stabilization and return to home widely available. The drone has a 25-minute flight time per charge of its battery.

The Phantom 3 Standard was the entry level model in the Phantom 3 lineup, as a result it was popular amongst first time drone users because of its balance between features and price. Unlike the Professional and Advanced models, it used a Wi‑Fi‑based remote system, which limited range but made the drone more affordable. This drone helped DJI solidify its reputation as the leading consumer drone manufacturer during the mid‑2010s.

Production of all Phantom 3 drone models ended in 2023 and the Phantom 4 series succeeded them with advanced features such as obstacle avoidance and improved flight stability. However, the Phantom 3 series still remains as one of DJI’s most recognized consumer drone lines.

The Phantom series drone has been used over its lifetime by all types of groups, from journalists and hobbyists to military organizations. In 2014 Iraqi special forces shot down drones carrying grenade launchers and drones used for aerial bombing. Additionally, U.S. Secret Service and FBI has used the Phantom Series, despite outcries against the model, up until as late as 2021.

The DJI Phantom 3 Series of Drones: Standard, Professional, Advanced, 4k, SE have different colors. The DJI Phantom 3 Standard has distinct red stripes and coloring that can be found on the “arms” of the drone; they are found near the motors.  The coloring and the badge found on the front of the drone (the side where the camera faces) are the main ways to distinguish the DJI Phantom 3 Standard from other models in the series. Another way to confirm is to check the label inside the battery compartment which has the model number. The model number will either CP.PT.000168 or W321, depending on the specific version. The model number can also be found on a label on the original box.
