Computer Won’t Turn on

The laptop will not turn on or show any signs of powering on

Faulty Power Cord

Ensure the power cord is plugged in and charging icon in the top left of screen appear. If the power cord is plugged in and the charging icon fails to appear. The power cord is faulty and should be replaced. Try replacing it with this Battery replacement guide

Faulty Battery

Ensure the power cord is plugged in and charging icon in the top left of screen appear. If the laptop only turns on when the power cord is plugged into the laptop. The battery is faulty and should be replaced.

KeyBoard or Keys not Responding

The keys don’t respond or are missing or broken

Faulty Keyboard

If none of the keys are working then the keyboard is faulty and needs to be replaced. Try replacing it with this Keyboard replacement guide

Keys Stuck in place

When the keys can’t be pressed there may be something under the key. Find something to pry up the key. A kitchen knife should work. Then wipeout anything that is underneath.Then snap the key back into place.

Keys are missing

If a key is missing consider buying a new one and snapping it into place on the keyboard.

Speakers are not working

No sound will come out of the laptop

Volume is turned down

Make sure your volume is not all the way turn off by clicking the speaker icon in the bottom right. If there is no sound coming from the speakers then connect headphones and see if they produce sound. If the headphones work your speakers may be damaged and need replacing. Computer running slow

Programs loading slowly

Hard Drive full

Your hard Drive might be full and need of a replacement. Replacing it will wipe all your current saved data and allow you to start with a clean slate. Try replacing it with this hard drive replacement guide

Not enough storage

Another option is to obtain a external hard drive and move some of your files form your computer to the external hard drive.

LCD display not working

Screen partially/completely blacked out

Screen back light not on

If your device is on and your screen is still black, your backlight may not be bright enough. In order to turn on your backlight brightness up, press the F12 key until the screen becomes visible. If after pressing the F12 key, your screen still doesn’t light it, you may need to replace your screen. Try replacing it with this LSC replacement guide

Screen shattered

If your screen is partially or completely blacked out, or has an LCD bleed, you will need to replace the entire LCD screen. You can determine if it is an LCD bleed by analyzing the screen to see if there is any light coming through or “bleeding” through the black background.
