Phone will not charge

Your charger is connected, but the phone does not charge.

Bad Charging Cable/Adapter

The adapter and/or charging cable may be faulty. Swap these components, if available, and attempt charging again.

Bad Charging Port

First attempt to clean the port. This can be achieved with a dry, unused toothbrush. Compressed air may also come in handy. See guide for more detailed instructions.

Dead Battery

The battery may contain one or more bad cells, and is therefore defunct. Replacing the battery may solve the issue. Remove the back cover to access the device’s battery, remove, and replace. (Refer to repair guide for more detailed instructions.)

Bluetooth Connectivity Issues

Bluetooth will not connect, and/or stay connected.

Update Android OS

Bluetooth connectivity issues are a general Android problem for some. This was addressed in the 4.4.4 Android update. As such, it is advisable to begin the troubleshooting process with this step.

Clear Bluetooth Cache

Navigate to Settings -> Applications -> Application Manager. Scroll right to the “All” tab. Scroll down to locate and select “Bluetooth share.” Scroll down and select “clear cache.”

Faulty Camera

Your phone will not take pictures; the camera app will not open.

Clear Camera Cache

Navigate to Settings -> Applications -> Application Manager. Scroll right to the “All” tab. Scroll down to locate and select “Camera.” Scroll down and select “clear cache.”

Replace Camera Module

Refer to device tear down/repair guide for replacing components of the camera.

Factory Reset

This may be necessary as a last line of defense when other solutions have failed to rectify one or more issues with a possible software component. Navigate to Setting -> Backup and Reset -> Factory Data Reset. Note that you may select “Back up My Data” prior to doing so. (Optional)

Faulty Display

Your screen is either shattered or defective in some other way.

Refer to device tear down/repair guide for replacing the LCD.

Faulty microphone and/or ear piece.

You either cannot hear calls or media audio through the main speaker (ear piece), and/or the microphone does not seem to function properly.

Factory Reset

This may be necessary as a last line of defense when other solutions have failed to rectify one or more issues with a possible software component. Navigate to Setting -> Backup and Reset -> Factory Data Reset. Note that you may select “Back up My Data” prior to doing so. (Optional)

Replace the component in question

Refer to the tear down/repair guide for replacing the ear piece and/or microphone.

Phone Not Placing or Receiving Calls

Your phone will not place outgoing calls/receive incoming ones.

Replace Sim Card

Power down the device. Remove the back cover of the phone, and remove the battery. Locate the sim card to the top left of where the battery sits. Using a pair of tweezers or a similar tool, gently grab and slide the sim card out. The new sim card should slide in by hand. (Refer to repair guide for more detailed instructions.)

Factory Reset

This may be necessary as a last line of defense when other solutions have failed to rectify one or more issues with a possible software component. Navigate to Setting -> Backup and Reset -> Factory Data Reset. Note that you may select “Backup My Data” prior to doing so. (Optional)
