Tablet Not Turning On
“My tablet will not turn on/boot whether plugged or unplugged.”
Low Brightness
Look closely at your device screen. If you see a faint image, proceed to turn up the brightness on the tablet.
Improper Shutdown
Every once and awhile a tablet will power down improperly and have a hard time loading the software on the next start-up. Try forcing the tablet to boot in BIOS by holding down the power button + volume up (simultaneously) for around 40 seconds. Once the device boots to BIOS, exit it and windows will load.
Broken Micro-USB Charger
Plug the device in using the charger and check the left side for an orange LED light. If the light is not on, the device is not getting power. Try replacing the Micro-USB charger and power on.
Faulty Battery
If the device still will not turn on, try replacing the battery using the Battery replacement guide.
External Keyboard Not Working
“My tablet is not connecting with the keyboard.”
Outdated Drivers
In the search bar type “Troubleshooting” and hit enter. Next, choose ”Hardware and Sound” and click on “Hardware and Devices” to run the Troubleshooter.
Broken Keyboard
If the standard docked keyboard is not responding, try to connect an external USB keyboard by using a micro-USB to USB adapter on the left side of the device.
Dirty/Damaged Keyboard Dock
If the factory tablet keyboard is not connecting to the keyboard dock at the bottom of the device, the dock connection may be dirty. Try cleaning the area and reconnect the keyboard. If this does not work, check both connection areas (top of keyboard & dock) for damages. You can also check the internal keyboard connection by using the Keyboard ribbon/dock repair guide.
Poor Wireless Connection/ Won’t Connect to Internet
“My tablet will not connect to the internet.”
Airplane Mode Activated by Accident
Sometimes Airplane mode becomes turned on by accident on a tablet. Make sure airplane mode is disabled and your WiFi is back on by pressing Fn+F3 keys.
Reconnect to WiFi
Completely disconnect from the Acer One’s WiFi connection by turning the WiFi off. Once disconnected, turn the WiFi back on and try reconnecting.
Forget WiFi Network
Click on WiFi connection in settings, then click “forget this network”. This will automatically disconnect your WiFi connection. Re-enter the WiFi password in order to reconnect.
Reboot Router
Find the wireless router location. Reboot your wireless router by unplugging the device, waiting about 15 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on again. Give the router time to fully reboot (3-5 minutes depending on your router) and then try reconnecting your device to the WiFi.
Loose/Broken WiFi Antenna
If the options above failed to fix the WiFi connection issue, the WiFi antenna component inside the tablet could be loose or damaged. Try following the WiFi Antenna replacement guide.
Touchscreen is Unresponsive
"The touchscreen won't respond anywhere that I touch."
Update Drivers
Visit Acer’s support website and navigate to the latest software available for the touch screen or digitizer drivers. Install them. If this doesn't work, try using Intel driver update utility which can be found on Intel's website.
Hard Reset
First, plug in an external mouse to have the ability of clicking. Hold down the Shift key and then restart the device. Continue to hold down the Shift key until a blue screen appears with three different options. Choose the "Troubleshooting" option and choose "Reset This PC".
Broken Digitizer/LCD Screen
If the LCD screen is physically damaged (cracked) or still unresponsive after trying the solutions above, try contacting Acer or a repair professional. This particular device model has an extremely different screen repair. Note: The LCD Screen and Digitizer are reliant on each other. If one is broken, both must be replaced.
Front/Rear Camera Physically Damaged
"I dropped my device and cracked the camera."
Camera Replacement
Unfortunately the only way to solve this is to completely replace whichever camera (front/rear) is physically damaged. Contact Acer for help or follow the Rear/Front Camera replacement guide.
