Laptop speakers are not playing sound properly

When playing sound from the laptop, there is either no sound or the sound may be distorted.

Audio drivers may be out of date

A common issue is that your drivers are not up to date. Your first step would be to identify if the drivers are up to date. To check if your drivers are not up to date, go to your control panel then device manager and finally go to sound controllers. Within sound controllers right click on Realtek High Definition Audio and update the driver

Speaker may be malfunctioning

If you find that your drivers are all up to date, your speaker could possibly have malfunctioned. Speakers are not typically easy to repair so it is likely you will need to replace the current speaker.

Display not functioning properly

Your laptop is clearly powered on yet the laptop display is not displaying the desired image.

Possible loose cable connections with the LCD and laptop

If you find that moving your screen back and forth is a temporary solution to this error then your problem is with the wires. It is possible they could be loose.

Possible dead or stuck pixels

Randomly colored dots appearing across the laptop display may indicate dead or stuck pixel. Here are some links to pages that may help stuck pixels.Dead pixels will likely require a screen replacement.

LCD screen may have received physical trauma

If the laptop has fallen or sustained physical damage and problems develop with the display, you are likely going to have to replace the entire LCD screen. In order to do this, follow this guide.

Laptop is overheating

If you find your laptop getting physically hot or even turning off by itself it is likely an overheating issue.

Cooling fan may not be running properly

Laptop cooling fans have varying life spans. These life spans are affected by the amount of dust or pollution in the air around the laptop and poor ventilation. A fan that is not working likely needs to be replaced. In order to do this, follow this guide.

CPU thermal paste may not be applied properly

Thermal paste is the compound applied to the CPU of the laptop. Over time CPU thermal paste may become less effective at doing its job of transferring heat and may lead to overheating issues. This likely calls for application of new thermal paste. To do this, follow this guide.

Laptop is not powering on

Pressing the power button on the laptop appears to do nothing.

Motherboard may have an electrical problem

The motherboard is very tricky when it comes to diagnosing a problem with the laptop. There are many parts that can fail on a motherboard. Most will require a full motherboard replacement. Here is a guide to show you how to remove the motherboard.

Battery may be malfunctioning

The easiest and quickest way to check if it is the battery is through replacing the battery.

Incorrect time and date is being displayed

When I turn on my device, the incorrect time and date shows up.

CMOS battery needs to be replaced

If you find your laptop displaying the incorrect time and date or your computer displays an error saying your CMOS battery needs to be replaced. It will eventually lose charge but typically has a long life. To replace the CMOS battery follow this guide.

Keyboard not providing input to the computer

Whenever I type on the keyboard, there is no response from the laptop.

Keyboard is malfunctioning

Your keyboard seems to be malfunctioning. This could be due to hardware error or user error such as spilling something on your keyboard. To replace your keyboard, follow this guide.
