My 3DS is having a weird issue. When the 3DS's top screen's hinge is at about a 95-degree angle or less, the system works perfectly. However, if I push the screen farther back, the system fully turns off. I should point out that the system is not modded, meaning it isn't an issue after modding.

That is weird. If you are OK with it, can you open it up and check the connections on the motherboard?

I’m afraid it’s related to the top screen..
I would replace it and test if that worked.

Just be careful with the old screen, because if that's not the problem, I think you would want to return the new screen to iFixit for a refund.
Even if I replace the upper screen, why do I need a new speaker assembly?
What do you mean? I would only replace the topscreen for now.
