Hi,

Check the status of the WLAN adapter in Device Manager.

To get to Device Manager in Win 10, right click on the Windows Start button on the left side of the Taskbar and click on the Device Manager link in the options box that opens.

When in Device Manager, scroll down to Network Adapters and click on the > symbol to the left of the entry to expand the list and then right click on the WLAN entry (should have “Intel” mentioned) and select Properties. Check the status in the General Tab.

If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the WLAN adapter entry, you will have to update the drivers for the adapter. (right click on entry and select Update drivers) If you cannot access the internet using an Ethernet cable you will have to manually install them or you could try uninstalling the adapter (right click on entry and select Uninstall and follow the prompts). Restart the laptop and Windows should reinstall the WLAN adapter drivers. Check if it now works.

If there is a red cross next to the WLAN entry, right click on the entry and click on Enable. Check if it now works.

If there is no WLAN adapter entry in Device Manager, check if there is an Other Devices listing in Device Manager and see if it is listed there. Also click on View > show hidden devices to see if it appears.

If there is no WLAN entry at all in Device Manager, not quite sure in your laptop but check in BIOS > Advanced Mode > Security > I/O Interface Security to see if there is a WLAN entry and if so, if it is enabled. If disabled, enable the setting, save the changes and restart the laptop.

To access BIOS press F2 during boot i.e. time between starting the laptop and Windows start screen appears, usually when the Asus logo is on the screen
