Hi,

Just curious why you would want to replace the battery on a phone (which for warranty purposes includes the battery) that should still be covered by the manufacturer's 12 month warranty as it was only released in Apr/May 2016.

There is also this Uh Oh Protection addendeum to the warranty if you purchased the phone from HTC.com

@jayeff , its funny how this question got hijacked and became a Samsung commercial. You probably should post your comment as a solution.

Hi @avanteguarde ,

As you say they're not really offering solutions to the question asked or even asking the same sort of question again as sometimes happens.

Perhaps they should be marked as off-topic at the least.

Cheers

@jayeff, yes, I've already voted, just need a few more votes.

mine started doing the same thing. It seems to shut off on its own. When it does restart it says 33%. I shut down phone cometely and restart and it says 2-3%. From full charge my phone does this almost everyday. Trying to find answers also. Warranty ended in September and this started happening less than a month later.

I thought I may have had to replace my battery too. Was going to go down the warranty route.

My phone seemed completely non responsive to charging, powering on or anything.

Spoke with O2 and was advised to press and hold the Power button and volume down for 10 seconds.

This brought up a 'reboot' screen. It mentioned something about the phone being locked.

I used the volume up and down to select the Reboot option and then the power button to select the option.

Phone rebooted very quickly and was immediately back to working as normal.

Hope this helps, if you have the same problem.

I did everything here. Worked a few more weeks then went black. No light. No charging ability. No power on. It's basically a brick. I bought a quick, lesser expensive phone, LG Stylus 3. Still would like to get phone to work again at least for extra Wi-fi device. I paid enough for it.

Thank you so much for posting this! I had the same problem. Phone was at 48%, then turned itself off, was unresponsive to power button or charging or anything. I thought I was going to have to spend money I don't have to get it fixed, but happened across your comment, and it worked like a charm :) thanks so much!

if you have warranty service, go with that. If you don't, the guide's here:

but seriously. This is one of the most ridiculously hard phones to repair.

I have these issues plus including all icons disappearing, running extremely sluggish, date stamps missing on SMS messages, now when I tap any key or app it no longer vibrates except during a call or text alerts, and since dec 2017 the phone goes thru a bunch of sound effects and buzzing about 3-4 times a day and back some months ago the phone heated up to 121 degrees and afterwards all these above problems started and back in 2017 the micro sd card disappeared but accessible thru my laptop but the card is encrypted so even tho the laptop sees it I can not gain access to the files. Going back to feb 2017 I started taking bug reports and sending em to the sd card and after the card was no longer available I started sending the bug reports to my google drive. I have had it with my HTC 10... my HTC Evo 3D still works fine just upgraded it as it got old and I have a need for speed no matter if it's my pcs of phone

Watch this, it’s a hassle though. I’m also contemplating a new battery. It only holds 61% of the original 3000mah capacity. I mucked it up after leaving it on the charger for 12hs on multiple occasions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5uLJJnE...
