It was created by OnePlus Technology, which is owned by its parent company, BBK electronics in China.

The OnePlus 9 Pro has a 120 Hz screen with a 3216x1440 display. The rear facing cameras are an ultra-wide camera with 50-megapixel and a 14 mm lens, a 48-megapixel wide lens, and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens. Video recordings are 8K videos at 30 frames-per-second.

The OnePlus 9 Pro did not have any official recalls, but did have software issues that were addressed and fixed through software updates. Users liked the OnePlus 9 Pro for its performance, camera, and display; however, the phone was considered to be unreliable due to battery and software issues. The OnePlus 9 Pro made 300 million Yen in China (47 million US dollars) during the first 10 seconds of its launch.
