Hard Reset
Repeated errors that prevent normal operation of the LG VX6100 are often caused by additional software downloaded to the phone. In order to return the LG VX6100 to normal working condition, you need to conduct a hard reset. A hard reset clears all of the data and software stored in the phone's memory and returns the LG VX6100 to the factory settings.
Write down any important data stored in your phone prior to resetting the LG VX6100.
Resetting the phone deletes all of the information in your phone.
To perform a hard reset, perform the following steps:
- Press the left soft key under the word "Menu" to open the main menu. The soft keys are the two buttons under the screen with a dash on them.
- Push "9" on the phone's keypad for "Settings" and then "4" for "Security." A password prompt will appear on the screen.
- Enter the phone's password using the keypad. The default password is the last four digits of your phone number.
- Push "6" for "Reset Default" and then press the "OK" button, which is located in the middle of the directional buttons.
