Fixing Nintendo Switch Joycon Drift for Cheap

Mi Problema

The left joystick would register downward input without touching it.

It went failrly smoothly. It wasn't too hard to disassemble enough to get to the joystick, but when reassembling I ran into two issues. One, the rubber dome that sits below the screenshot button fell out. I didn't realize that until I put everything together. Secondly, somehow something with the power button became misaligned, so when I snapped everything back together, the button was too recessed. Both issues were easily rectified, thoug

It was a little tricky to close the outer shell back up, though. There's a very specific alignment that needs to be done to align the top edge of the back shell around where the heatsink fins are located. If not lined up properly, you get a weird bulge in the plastic at the seam. I noticed there's a slight groove in the top shell near the heatsink you have to line up when reattaching the back shell. By starting at that location and working outward, I was able to get the shell snapped back together without that bulge.

Also, working around the headphone jack requires a little more force than I was expecting. You kind of have to bend the plastic shell around the jack to get the shell off and on.
