when the laptop is powered on there is a buzzing and vibration

when the laptop is powered on, it makes this vibration and buzzing sound like a disc reading. it’s loud, and doesn’t stop. as far as i know there isn’t movable parts besides the fan, i could be wrong. any idea what this is?

Hi @laptopluver420,

Does it make the sound when the charger is connected, when only on battery power or either?

- de

it’s both…like the whole thing vibrates… the best way i can describe it is it feels like a haptic feedback vibrate like from your phone… but it’s not touch screen capable

@laptopluver420

Just trying to eliminate possibilities.

Does it reduce in volume or vibration when you allow the laptop to go into sleep mode?

Try disabling the sound just in case it is the speakers vibrating when they shouldn't.

Try listening close to or feeling the laptop case or lid to try and determine where the vibration is coming from to try and narrow it down a bit more.

no it just happens … started out of no where… i feel like some thing is stuck in the fan but don’t know if it would make the whole laptop do it… i have a video of it… but i don’t think i can share it

@laptopluver420

Did you try what I suggested as I'm not sure whether you did or not?

Hi @laptopluver420

I would open the laptop and check the fan anyway to see if it is the problem.

Here's a video that shows what to do.

If the fan is faulty usually there's a part number on the fan that will help to find replacements.

Not sure as there are 3 different fans available for the model series but it may look similar to this number, HQ23300020000.

If there is the same or a similar length number, search online for the number to find suppliers that suit you best
