Sim card not recognized

About 7 months ago my Pixel 4a would intermittently stop recognizing the SIM card. Initially a reset would solve the problem, then when resetting wouldn't fix it, ejecting and reinserting the SIM card would; now that doesn't work either. I've replaced the SIM card and it didn't solve the issue.

I saw the post about the iPhone's sim reader issue, but I did not see a similar copper bar on the teardown video for the Pixel 4a.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
