MacBook Pro 13" A1502 (Late 2013) will not boot
Observations:
- Laptop has been working normally. All of a sudden when I tried to turn it on, it does not boot at all. No startup screen, no apple logo, no progress bar.
- When I try to turn it on, I can hear some of the components inside turning on (i.e. fan, hard drive) - the components inside are attempting to turn on then it goes off and repeatedly does that.
- Screen remains black, keyboard commands such as adjusting screen brightness, keyboard light brightness does not seem to register.
- Battery still charges. I can see indicator going from amber to green after plugging magsafe cable for an hour or so.
Attempted Solutions:
- Basic power off and on
- SMC / NVRAM / PRAM reset key sequences
- Boot Recovery Mode
The only thing I have not tried yet is disengaging the cable to the battery inside the laptop and attempting to turn it on with the magsafe cable attached. Wanted to see if anyone else has any other suggestions first.
Much appreciated.

I had this problem also and it was not the battery. Common problem with these is the trackpad flex cable. If the battery replacement fails for you, remove the trackpad cable and attempt a boot without it. The part number for my A1502 was 821-00184-A
