2 After battery replacement shuts down at 3% instead of sleep mode
I have replaced the battery on my macbook pro. Everything goes well except that the computer suddenly shuts down when the battery reaches 3%. Instead of going into sleep mode, it just shuts down and will restart the system when turned back on, instead of getting off sleep mode.
I tried both the PRAM and SMC reset without success. Any hint?

clearly something is wrong. Two days back according to coconut the health of the battery was 95% after 4 cycles, and the charge capacity was already less than the declared 8600mAh. Today I tried a few times the SMC reset, and every time I plugged the charging cable it added a cycle count, so went pretty rapidly from 8 to 14.

@danj Yes, real Apple. I bought a new one with the battery, and reinforced it with sugru as soon as I got it out of the box XD

Just to clarify, are you saying that when you discharge the battery to 3% it suddenly shuts down? If that's the case, we would want to know how quickly the battery is discharging. Connected external devices that draw power can cause the battery to discharge more quickly. Also it could be the case that the battery is not fully calibrated so the accuracy of the current charge percentage is a little off. I would recommend calibrating the battery by fully charging it to 100% and then fully discharging it.

@zpl exactly. When discharging, once the battery reaches 3% it shuts down without getting into sleep mode.
I charged and discharged the battery as you said already 3 or 4 times, without any device attached and without any success. The discharge time varies depending on the software I'm using, but on average I'd say is around 3 hours. I'll check the discharge time properly today.
