Camera Power Up Issue

Initially, it would turn on in a “Picture” mode but only if the lens cap were in place. As soon as I remove the lens cap it shuts off.

Now, Camera will only power up in “view” mode, I can view all the pic’s on the card no problem. As soon as the selector it turned to ANY other mode it shuts off. It will not turn on in ANY mode but “view” mode.

No idea what happened, its been in its bag and worked just a couple months ago when I used it last!!!

Yes, I added new fresh batteries.

Help???
